Dominant Performance by van der Meijden in Tulsa Win
|
In a low-scoring game between the Tulsa Otters and the Indiana Lead Sox, pitcher Yan van der Meijden was masterful on the mound. The Tulsa right-hander was named the player of the game in Tulsa's 3-0 win. The save went to Ramiro Valdés, his 6th this season. The Otters saw their record improve to 23-11.
van der Meijden scattered 4 hits over 7.1 innings for the Otters. With the win, van der Meijden goes to 5-2 on the year with 46 strikeouts.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Tulsa manager Allen Evans.
