Canucks Get Close Win Over Fire
The Moose Jaw Canucks knocked off the Franklin Fire, 7-6, at Lawmen Ballpark. Ambrose Watkins, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Moose Jaw won. The designated hitter went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The win was credited to Cristóbal López in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Freddy Estrada took the loss. The Canucks improved to 13-17.

Moose Jaw used the timely hitting of Rob Hawkins to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Canucks on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It feels good to get this one," Watkins told the Moose Jaw Observer.
