Canucks Squelch Fire Offense in Shutout Win
Moose Jaw starter Jeffrey Sheppard had a strong outing against the Franklin Fire at Lawmen Ballpark. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-0 win. Jesús Morillo closed the door for Moose Jaw, picking up his 2nd save of the year. The 8th-place Canucks improved to 12-17.

The result might have been different for Moose Jaw, had it not been for Alberto Menéndez, the 18-year old third baseman . Menéndez stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put Moose Jaw up, 2-0. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Sheppard said in reaction to the win.
