Fire Roll Over Lead Sox, 9-4
|
Benefiting from Charlie Yaeger's productive game, the Franklin Fire downed the Indiana Lead Sox, 9-4. Yaeger went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Fire. Tim Wallace got credit for the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings. Freddy Estrada closed it out for his 4th save.
Yaeger contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Franklin in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Yaeger took a cutter from Shiki Yamamoto and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Fire to leap in front, 2-1.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Yaeger.
