Franklin and Hudsonville duked it out at Field of the Toros and the Fire came out victorious.
Franklin starter Tim Wallace had a strong outing against the Hudsonville Flanderses at Field of the Toros. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Wallace went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-1. Montrelle Benincasa closed the game out for Franklin, earning his 1st save.
The Fire grabbed the lead in the top of the second. With two out, Rubén Plumey, who is tied for 4th in the SR in home runs with 3, hit a 2-run home run off Gerard Tremwade, putting Franklin in front, 4-0. For Plumey, it was his 3rd home run of the season.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Plumey.
At 10-11, the Fire are currently 7th in the Silver R.
