Thunder Bay got a terrific performance from catcher Sébastien Cornu, but it wasn't enough to beat the Cleveland Browns. Cleveland won the Great Northern Field contest, 7-6. Cornu was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The Browns saw their record improve to 12-19.

Cleveland used the timely hitting of Gong Mao to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Browns ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Mao.
