Submarinos Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
Biff Pocoroba pitched well, but the Franklin Fire still lost the game, falling 1-0 to the Amarillo Submarinos at Lawmen Ballpark. Amarillo, now 4-8, is off to a slow start.
Amarillo used the timely hitting of Ron Carlisle to capture the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Submarinos on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Amarillo skipper Kenny Billings.
