Submarinos Win at Franklin, 2-0
|
Amarillo right-hander Roy Brown pitched his team to a shutout win, 2-0, over the Franklin Fire. Brown picked up the win for Amarillo, going 5.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Jang-lu Moy sewed up the save, his 1st.
Amarillo used the timely hitting of Bari bin Sayyid to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Submarinos on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Brown told the Amarillo Chronicle.
The Fire, now 8-2, have been pitiful so far.
