Hot Start Continues for Fire
|
The Franklin Fire got a magnificent effort from pitcher Biff Pocoroba, who kept Montgomery hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Fire win at Lawmen Ballpark. Freddy Estrada earned the save, his 1st, for the Fire. Franklin, at 6-1, is off to a blistering start.
The Fire got a big at-bat from second baseman Rubén Plumey. For the game, Plumey went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Franklin a 1-0 lead.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Pocoroba.
