The Greenville 84s picked up a win at 84s Field, knocking off the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 5-3. Starting pitcher Liam Thomson, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Thomson went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-3. Brandeis Vogt locked down his 6th save.

One of the clutch hits for Greenville came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the eighth with no one out, Doug Allerdale, who is tied for 5th in the SL with a .571 slugging percentage, hit a 3-run home run to put the 84s up, 4-0. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

Allerdale called the win "a collective effort."
