Tigers Rally For Late Win Over Biscuits

The Twinsburg Tigers defeated the Montgomery Biscuits, 4-1, in USSL Rookie action at Dodge Field, with Twinsburg pitcher Ken Richmond named player of the game. Twinsburg reliever Jack Young picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jeff Long shouldered the loss. The Tigers, now 3-0, have stormed out of the gates.
Had Bob Giles not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Giles hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Tigers.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Montgomery skipper Félix Cruz, "and it cost us."
