Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Fort Knox Centennial got the win.
Fort Knox Centennial starter Roble Gichinga was in fine form against the Capital Hill Interns at Alouettes Ballpark, leading his team to a 4-3 win. The Centennial now have a mark of 25-31.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Doug Tipton came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Capital Hill pitcher Vincent Moreau, he hit a 1-1 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Fort Knox on top, 4-3.
"There's no quit in this team," said Centennial manager António Molina.
