Browns Clip Oaks in Tight Contest
The Browns grabbed a win, 4-3, at Oakland Coliseum, overcoming a fine effort from Oakland pitcher Jeff Mahl. Mahl went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Martín García picked up the save for Cleveland, his 3rd of the year. The 9th-place Browns raised their record to 9-18.

Cleveland used the timely hitting of Felix Plugge to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Browns on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Plugge after the game.
