Cougars Saddle Centennial with 3-1 Loss
|
The Valley View Cougars topped the Fort Knox Centennial, 3-1, in USPL Rookie action at Ballpark of Baxter. The player of the game was Valley View pitcher and Port Arthur, Texas native Mark Kirk. Kirk went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1. His record improves to 1-0. Magnus Belli picked up the save for Valley View, his 8th of the year.
Fort Knox had the bases empty in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Rovilson Rosete came to bat, hoping to do some damage. Instead, he struck out. The score remained 3-1, Valley View. The Centennial saw their comeback bid fail.
Valley View now sits in 5th place in the Premier R at 12-11.
