Ducks Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
The Fort Knox Centennial got a superb performance from pitcher Noah Walker. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Long Island. The Ducks won the game, 4-2. In spite of the loss, Walker was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. Getting the save was Phil Soto, his 2nd. The Ducks keep rolling, raising their record to 14-4.
Long Island needed the clutch hitting of Sean Cox to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Ducks on top, 4-2. For the game, Cox had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Cox after the game.
