Long Island Wins 5-4 to Continue Red Hot Start
|
The Ladue Rams got a sterling performance from pitcher Vasile Alexandrescu, but the Ducks still prevailed, 5-4. Alexandrescu was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He came in in relief and pitched to 17 batters . Júlio Rosales earned the save, his 2nd. Long Island, now 11-3, is playing great baseball to start the year.
Long Island relied on the bat of Sergio Morán to get the win. The designated hitter ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Ducks ahead, 3-0. For the game, Morán had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"This was a good win," said Morán.
