Cougars Get Win, Extend Streak to 4

Valley View right-hander Jonas Wisse helped his team edge Ellesmere Island by the score of 3-2. Wisse kept the opposing lineup in check. Valley View reliever Tsugahara Ota was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Lúcio Marrero took the loss for Ellesmere Island. Magnus Belli got the save, the 5th for him this season.
Had Ken Norris not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Norris hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Cougars.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Wisse said.
The Snowpeople, now 4-10, continue their poor start.
