Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Corey Ollerton, the South Beach Blaze defeated the Provo Mango, 4-3. Ollerton went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs for the Blaze. Noah Walker got the save, his 1st in 1 chances. South Beach is now 61-31, 2½ games up in the Premier A.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Rovilson Rosete came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Provo pitcher Matt Koller, he hit a 2-1 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting South Beach on top, 4-3.
"This was a good win for us," said Ollerton. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
