Caldwell pitcher Roger Edwards gave the Guzzlers all they could handle, but in the end, Galesburg left Galesburg Field with a 3-2 win. Edwards allowed 2 earned runs on 3 hits over 6.1 innings. Even with the win, the Guzzlers have a dismal 28-61 record.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Clint Morgan came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Caldwell pitcher Pi-ao Tsao, he hit a 1-1 changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Galesburg on top, 3-2.
