Álvarez Lifts Browns to 8-4 Win
|
The Cleveland Browns beat the Toledo Stingers, 8-4, at Pacesetter Park. Cleveland second baseman Mario Álvarez earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 4 runs. The Browns, now 6-15, have not found much traction so far in 2036.
Cleveland used the clutch hitting of Shigenobu Ohayashi to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Browns the lead, 6-4. For the game, Ohayashi had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Álvarez told a Cleveland Herald reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
