Rocky Mountain and Provo got after it at Mango Yard.
Getting a good performance from first baseman Luis Benítez, the Rocky Mountain Vibes defeated the Provo Mango, 9-4. Benítez went 3 for 5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Vibes. José Díaz earned the win for Rocky Mountain. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 4 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 8-4.
With Rocky Mountain trailing 2-0 in the top of the third, Benítez hit a fastball from Carlos López for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Vibes ahead, 3-2.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Benítez.
At 41-38, the Vibes find themselves in 5th place in the Premier A.
