1787 BC Need Extra Frames to Get Past Generals
|
The Delaware 1787 BC trumped the Washington Generals, 9-7, at Washington Park. Delaware center fielder Ricardo Yates was named player of the game for his performance. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Delaware reliever Don Yi was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Jeffrey Chesser. Today's win puts Delaware at 32-39, while Washington falls to 31-40.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Yates delivered big-time for Delaware, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Jeffrey Chesser. The game-changing hit put the 1787 BC on top, 9-7.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Yates. "Those qualities define our team."
