Guzzlers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Torch
|
It was pandemonium at Galesburg Field after an exciting walk-off win.
The Mancelona Torch got a superb performance from pitcher Dave Shepard, but the Galesburg Guzzlers still won the game, 4-3. Shepard was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Galesburg reliever Toby Morris picked up the win to move to 1-3. Lucas Gameiro suffered the loss.
Mike Murdock had the critical at-bat for Galesburg. With no one out in the bottom of the tenth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly. It gave Galesburg the 4-3 walk-off win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Murdock said.
Galesburg is now 18-49, Mancelona 27-40.
