Torch Come Back Late to Top Guzzlers
|
Mancelona center fielder Jacques Viceronte was instrumental in his team's 4-3 win over the Galesburg Guzzlers. Viceronte, who is tied for 5th in the PA in hits with 58, went 3-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Torch. The winner was Mancelona reliever George Kipcak, now 6-3. The loser was Aletona Kylie. Lucas Gameiro earned the save, his 13th.
Viceronte had a game-changing single in the top of the ninth. On a 2-1 fastball from Aletona Kylie, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Torch a 4-3 lead. It was the 58th hit of the year for Viceronte.
Viceronte called the win "a collective effort."
The 9th-place Torch are now 22-31, the Guzzlers 13-40.
