Torch Rally For Late Win Over Mango

The Provo Mango got a superb performance from pitcher Rainer Ausmus. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Mancelona. The Torch won the game, 4-2. In spite of the loss, Ausmus was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings allowing 1 run. The save went to Lucas Gameiro, his 12th this season. Mancelona is now 20-28.
Had Enrique Flores not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Flores hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Torch.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Torch manager Jeremy Dennis. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
