Chiefs Best Walleye in Pitching Duel
|
Steve de Regt could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Walla Walla Walleye lost, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Caldwell Chiefs at Walleye Tank. The second-place Chiefs now have a win-loss record of 25-14.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and two out in the top of the fifth inning. That's when center fielder Noel Peterson, who is tied for 4th in the PA with a .327 batting average, drew a walk. The Chiefs went on to win.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Peterson told the Caldwell Times.
