The South Beach Blaze picked up a win at The Ballpark on the Beach, knocking off the Rocky Mountain Vibes, 4-2. Starting pitcher Clarence Gilbert, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Miguel Rodríguez earned the save, his 2nd, for the Blaze. South Beach has now won 5 in a row.
The Blaze got a big at-bat from catcher Ken Rodríguez. For the game, Rodríguez went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 9th double of the season gave South Beach a 4-1 lead.
"We'll try to build on that win," Gilbert told the South Beach Citizen.
