Generals Squelch Torch Offense in Shutout Win
José Flores never let the Torch get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Generals to a 4-0 win. Flores went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 3-3. The 9th-place Generals now have a win-loss record of 11-21.

The Torch had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Generals going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old shortstop Chris Hall came to the plate. Hall hit a run-scoring single on a 0-1 fastball from Mancelona hurler Marty McFly. It was Hall's 22nd hit of the year.

Flores called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
