The Mancelona Torch stopped the South Beach Blaze, 6-4, at The Ballpark on the Beach. The Torch got a big game from Carlos Moreno, who was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Yong-oon Cho, credited with the win, is now 2-2. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. The Torch, now 5-10, have not found much traction so far in 2036.
Moreno contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Mancelona in the top of the ninth. With his team trailing 4-3, Moreno took a cutter from Jorge Gil and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Torch to leap in front, 6-4.
Moreno called the triumph "a good team win."
