|
Delaware beat Washington on the strength of starter Jimmy Pineda's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 5-2 win. César Pérez locked down his 1st save. The Generals fall to 6-9 and continue their lackluster start to the 2036 season.
Delaware used the timely hitting of Michael Simmons to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the 1787 BC on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Pineda told reporters after the game.
