Fans who gathered at Washington Park saw a good contest between the Delaware 1787 BC and Washington Generals.
Delaware 1787 BC starter Peter Routledge was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Washington Generals, 3-1. Routledge picked up the win for Delaware, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2. Getting the save was Ron Sinnocks, his 1st.
Luis Rodríguez drove in one run for Delaware. The 21-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Clarence Miller. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Rodríguez.
Delaware is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 4th in 13 games.
