Torch Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
Mancelona pitcher José Costa did his part in helping his team beat the Washington Generals, 8-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Mancelona reliever Yong-oon Cho picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Pascal Durand was saddled with the loss. The Generals fall to 4-6 and continue their wobbly start to the 2036 season.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when shortstop Matsudaira Sugahara, who is rated as the 68th best prospect by BNN, reached on catcher's interference. The Torch went on to win.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Sugahara.
