Galesburg Field was the site of a exceptional pitchers' duel.
Provo right-hander Rainer Ausmus made an effective start against the Galesburg Guzzlers at Galesburg Field, leading his team to a 2-0 win. The save went to Mark Jacobson, his 4th this season.
Galesburg had the bases empty in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Cornell MacDonald came to bat, hoping to do some damage. Instead, he grounded out. The score remained 2-0, Provo. The Guzzlers saw their comeback bid fail.
