Airmen Go Down to Defeat, 4-1
|
The Put-In-Bay BC stopped the Alameda Airmen, 4-1, at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. The BC got a big game from Jesús Morán, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Put-In-Bay reliever Mark Corbett was credited with the win, to go to 2-2. Jorge Moreno took the loss for Alameda. Eric Manchester finished to wrap up his 5th save.
Put-In-Bay grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Alexander Conley delivered a run-scoring double, to make it 2-1 in favor of the BC.
Morán called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The 7th-place BC improved to 28-30.
