Syracuse second baseman Broderick Sarcoma was sensational. He went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Tennessee beat the Storm, 5-3. Sarcoma was named the player of the game despite the loss. Tennessee reliever Tyler Maloy picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Frank Butler took the loss. Joe Gram finished the game for Tennessee and earned his 1st save.

Tennessee took a 4-3 lead on Joel Iyiegbuniwe's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Syracuse pitcher Frank Butler in the bottom of the seventh.

In postgame comments to the Tennessee Gazette, Iyiegbuniwe said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

Tennessee is now 20-35, while Syracuse is 33-22.
