Seahawks Get One-Run Win at Syracuse
|
António García was superb against Syracuse. The left-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the SA in strikeouts with 54, had a forkball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 5-4 Seahawks victory. The winning pitcher was García, now 4-3. He tossed 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 10. Earning his 2nd save for Myrtle Beach was Annamaya Rakhi.
Myrtle Beach took a 5-2 lead on Juan Fuentes's 25th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Fuentes hit in the top of the seventh, left Syracuse pitcher Kohei Nishikawa shaking his head.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said García.
With the win, the Seahawks have a record of 19-18.
