Seahawks Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Gold Sox
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks beat the Chicago Gold Sox, 4-2, at Little Gold Sox Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of second baseman Tora Tora, who captured player of the game honors. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. The win was Ralph Owens's in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Ron Harris took the loss for Chicago. Myrtle Beach, now 18-18, holds 6th place in the Silver A.
Chicago had a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Dave Watts stood at the plate, hoping to find a gap. Instead, he flied out. The score remained 4-2, Myrtle Beach. The Gold Sox never could mount a comeback.
