Dragoons Come Back Late, Nip BC
|
The Put-In-Bay BC got a superb performance from pitcher Jeff McDermott. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Louisiana. The Dragoons won the game, 2-1. In spite of the loss, McDermott was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 1-hit ball. Louisiana reliever Elliot Rickard picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-2. Pascal Bourdon was collared with the loss. The 7th-place BC have dropped 8 straight games.
Jerry Williams had a nice at-bat for the Dragoons with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With a runner on 1st, the pinch hitter hit a single, which would prove important in the Louisiana win.
"We're our own worst enemy right now," said Put-In-Bay skipper Rick Bell.
