|
The Gold Sox grabbed a win, 9-4, at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Louisiana pitcher Sean Halls. Halls went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Santtu Öunap, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. Chicago now has a 3-game win streak.
The outcome might have been different for Chicago, had it not been for Sergio Aguero, the 21-year old catcher . Aguero stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Chicago up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Aguero.
