Storm Top Tula in Extras
|
The Chicago Tula got a superb performance from pitcher Tom Lee. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Syracuse. The Storm won the game, 1-0. In spite of the loss, Lee was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. Harris Hopkins, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. At 12-9, the Storm are currently 4th in the Silver A.
One significant plate appearance for Syracuse came with two out in the top of the 13th inning. Storm designated hitter Kent Maxwell drew a walk, which helped Syracuse go on to win.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Maxwell told the Syracuse Herald.
