Yajirobei Matsumoto was superb against Put-In-Bay. The right-hander had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 6-3 Airmen victory. Matsumoto, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 1 walk. Alameda is now riding a 8-game win streak.
Rafael Bregonzi hit a run-scoring double off Rob Kelly in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Airmen in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Bregonzi had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"Yajirobei is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Alameda manager Tomás Gonzáles.
