The Louisiana Dragoons got a strong performance from pitcher Sean Halls, who stymied the Alameda offense en route to a 5-1 win at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. The winning pitcher was Halls, now 2-0. He tossed 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Wesley Mason was called on to finish, recording his 4th save.

Jaime Martínez dealt the Airmen a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Louisiana leading 2-1, Martínez hit a 1-2 curveball for a bases-clearing double.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Louisiana manager Santiago Vargas. "It's usually not just one thing."

The Dragoons, now 8-4, have been on a roll in the early going.
