The Put-In-Bay BC did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Niagara Falls Expos at Waterfall Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Pedro Lucero, who captured player of the game honors. César Sandoval was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. Put-In-Bay, at 4-1, is off to a blistering start.
Adam Clements, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with one out in the top of the sixth. That's when he connected on a fastball from Mike Hess for a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season put Put-In-Bay in front, 2-1.
Clements attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
