The Yellowknife Dragonblood grabbed a 6-1 win over the Niagara Falls Expos at The Dragon Den. Yellowknife left fielder Estanislao Hirigoyen went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once to earn player of the game honors. Yellowknife reliever Ron Harris picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Lou Cain absorbed the loss. Yellowknife is off to a hot start at 2-1.
José García made an early impact for Yellowknife when he stroked his 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which came with no one out in the bottom of the second, put the Dragonblood on top, 1-0.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," García told reporters after the game.
