Reapers Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Reapers had to overcome a fine effort from Lake Erie pitcher Greg Hoover to grab a narrow 4-3 win at The Coffin. Hoover went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Grim reliever Marty Beard picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Callum Dallin absorbed the loss. Grim now sits in 4th place in the Menard's A at 48-32.
Grim took a 4-3 lead on John Wilder's 81st hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Wilder hit in the bottom of the 16th, left Lake Erie pitcher Callum Dallin visibly frustrated.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Grim manager Enrique Zumaya.
