Hotspur U-21 Sneak Past Jets, 4-3
|
The Kennesaw Jets got a superb performance from pitcher Kenny Luker. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Phoenix. The Hotspur U-21 won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Luker was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. Tony Ramírez converted his 22nd save in 26 tries. With the win, Phoenix has a record of 39-38. Kennesaw falls to 54-23.
Phoenix relied on the hitting of Pancho Coloma to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hotspur U-21 on top, 4-3. For the game, Coloma had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Coloma said after the game.
