Rainbow Mermaids Win at Nashville, 4-3
|
The 2036 season did not get off to quite the start the Nashville Outlaws had hoped, with an opening day loss to the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Nashville Stadium. The final score was 4-3. Starting Pitcher Ricardo García was named player of the game for Northern Virginia. García picked up the win for Northern Virginia, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0.
Northern Virginia took a 4-2 lead on Zahid Kashani's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Kashani hit in the top of the seventh, left Nashville pitcher Cheung Lai shaking his head.
"I liked his command," said Northern Virginia manager David Lister. "Ricardo was throwing strikes."
