Chukars Squelch Bulls Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Mt. Vernon Bulls and Idaho Falls Chukars brought some excitement to Ballpark of Mt. Vernon.
The Chukars had to overcome a fine performance from Mt. Vernon pitcher Tom Burnett to grab a 3-0 win at Ballpark of Mt. Vernon. Burnett allowed 3 earned runs over 5.1 innings. Idaho Falls reliever Phillam Alindogan picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tom Burnett shouldered the loss.
Idaho Falls used the timely hitting of Muoi Hoan to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Chukars ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Hoan.
Idaho Falls is third in the Menard's A with a record of 40-26.
