Bulls Bridle River Rats, 1-0
|
In a well-pitched game between the Mt. Vernon Bulls and the Columbia River Rats, pitcher Abdul-Nasir Rabah was fantastic. The Mt. Vernon left-hander was named the player of the game in Mt. Vernon's 1-0 win. Tuna Altuna picked up the save for Mt. Vernon, his 7th of the year. With the win, the Bulls have a record of 23-34.
Tied up with the River Rats in the top of the fifth inning, the Bulls got a boost from shortstop Jiao-long Xú. With a runner on 1st, Xú saw a 1-2 fastball from Dwayne Cockeram and hit a run-scoring double to break the stalemate and put Mt. Vernon on top, 1-0.
Rabah told a Mt. Vernon Citizen reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
