Chukars Fall to Vandals, 3-1
|
With pitcher Ricky Sellers leading the charge, the Eugene Vandals defeated the Idaho Falls Chukars, 3-1, at The Riot Zone. Sellers, who is rated as the 12th best prospect by BNN, threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Sellers got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Sellers allowed no earned runs. Clyde Kittow picked up the save for Eugene, his 8th of the year.
Ismael Soto was vital part of the Eugene win. He went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth with no one out, Soto hit a run-scoring double. It made the score 2-0, in favor of the Vandals.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Soto said after the game.
Eugene is in last place in the Menard's A with a record of 11-34.
